A ceasefire between Station Casinos and the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 is likely to cause the unionization for the Palace Station in downtown Las Vegas.
Palace Station’s owner Station Casinos has been accused of attempting to influence an election of its employees by indirectly threatening these with medical care premium cuts.
It is not that Station has instantly changed its long-held anti-union stance; rather, the organization has been forced into an awkward climb down, having been accused of rigging a workers’ election, possibly in violation of the National Labor Relations Act.
This week, the company consented to settle a labor that is unfair complaint filed to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) by the union. Facility was criticized by the NLRB for allegedly interfering with the election, held last October.
‘Rather than engage in lengthy, disruptive and distracting procedures, the organization has decided so it would maintain its most readily useful interests to continue with negotiations with the union once the collective bargaining representative at Palace facility for the eligible bargaining device downline at that home,’ said Station within an formal statement.
